Stoney says: start low, go slow — the forest isn't going anywhere. Wait 90 minutes before seconds.
Steps
- Warm the water in a small saucepan until it just steams, add the sugar, and stir until it goes completely clear. Don't let it boil.
- Pull the pan off the burner, drop in the herbs and any aromatics, and let them steep 15–30 minutes. Taste at 15 and stop when the flavour is where you want it.
- Strain through a fine sieve into a measuring jug, pressing gently on the herbs. Discard the solids.
- Let the syrup cool to room temperature — genuinely cool, not "warm enough." Tincture never goes into a hot or simmering pan.
- Top the cooled syrup up with cool water to exactly 240 ml / 1 cup. This is the step that makes the dose real; if you skip it, every tablespoon is a guess.
- Pour the measured tincture in, then stir slowly for a full 60 seconds so it's evenly distributed top to bottom. Funnel into a clean bottle and stir or shake again before each use.
- Label it: tape a card to the bottle reading "Infused simple syrup — 5 mg THC per 1 tbsp (½ oz), 10 servings, 50 mg total. 21+ only. Made [date]." Keep it in the fridge, on a shelf where nobody grabs it for coffee by accident, and use within about 3 weeks.
