Steps

  1. Set out four identical jars or lidded containers with a scale nearby — equal jars are what make the dose per jar honest.
  2. Warm the milk gently until it is just lukewarm to the finger, around 40 °C / 100 °F. Do not let it get hot; this is only to keep the coconut oil liquid.
  3. Melt the infused coconut oil in a small pan over the lowest heat or in short bursts in the microwave, stopping as soon as it turns clear.
  4. Whisk the melted infused oil, nut butter, maple syrup, vanilla and salt into the warm milk until the mixture looks smooth and slightly cloudy with no oil slick riding on top. Whisk in the yogurt.
  5. Stir the oats and chia seeds into the base and mix thoroughly, scraping the bottom of the bowl so the oil is carried through the whole mixture rather than sitting in one place.
  6. Set a jar on the scale, tare, and fill. Note the weight, then fill the other three to the same number so all four portions are identical. Scrape the bowl clean and share any last spoonfuls evenly.
  7. Lid the jars and refrigerate at least 8 hours, or 2 to 4 hours in a pinch. Chilled coconut oil may set in small flecks — that is normal.
  8. To serve, stir each jar well from the bottom before eating so the dose is even through the whole portion, loosen with a splash of milk if it is stiff, and add toppings. Keep up to 5 days.
  9. Label each jar: Four-Jar Morning Oats · 20 mg THC total batch · 5 mg per jar · 4 jars · made [date] · 21+ only.
