Stoney says: start low, go slow — the forest isn't going anywhere. Wait 90 minutes before seconds.
Steps
- Heat the milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it's just steaming and barely bubbling at the edge. Don't let it reach a rolling boil.
- Whisk in both chocolates, the brown sugar and the salt until everything is melted and glossy. Turn the heat to low and hold it at a bare simmer for about 5 minutes, whisking now and then.
- Kill the heat completely and move the pan off the burner. Whisk in the vanilla.
- Let the pot sit for 2–3 minutes so it drops out of simmering range, then add the measured tincture and whisk steadily for a full minute. Whisking matters more here than anywhere else — an under-stirred pot means five unequal mugs.
- Check your volume: you should have about 5 cups. Ladle into five mugs using a 1-cup measure so each one gets the same pour, and stir the pot briefly between pours. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream if you like.
- Label it: if any goes in the fridge, pour it into a jar with a tag reading "Infused sipping chocolate — 5 mg THC per 1 cup mug, 5 servings, 25 mg total. 21+ only. Made [date]." Reheat gently with a splash of milk; use within about 4 days. If you're serving straight away, tell each person the per-mug number as you hand it over.
