Decarb, explained.
TL;DR
Raw flower won't do anything in a brownie. Heat converts THCA into THC — 240°F, 40 minutes, covered tray, cool before infusing. That's it. The rest is detail.
1 · Why heat matters
Raw cannabis carries THCA, which your body barely notices. Gentle heat snips off one molecular tail and turns it into THC. No heat, no effect — however good the butter smells.
2 · The numbers
240°F for 40 minutes is the sweet spot: hot enough to convert, cool enough not to torch the terpenes. Cover the tray — the smell is the neighborhood’s business otherwise.
3 · The mistakes
Grinding to dust (burns), skipping the cool-down (soggy butter), eyeballing amounts (the calculator exists). Label the jar with date and dose — future you says thanks.
COMMON QUESTION
Can I decarb in an air fryer?
Yes — same temperature, check at 25 minutes, and weigh the basket down so nothing goes flying. The Grove's air-fryer bake reports run hot.
