150 g (¾ cup) granulated sugar180 ml (¾ cup) water½ tsp vanilla extract1 vanilla pod, split lengthways, seeds scraped (keep the pod)50 mg THC tincture, measured with a marked dropper or syringeTo serve, per glass: 180 ml cold brew, ice, splash of milk or cream if you like
Stoney says: start low, go slow — the forest isn't going anywhere. Wait 90 minutes before seconds.
Steps
- Combine the sugar and water in a small pan over medium-high heat, stirring as it comes up so the sugar dissolves cleanly.
- Let it boil for 5 minutes, then take the pan off the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, the scraped seeds and the empty pod. The syrup will look thin — it firms up as it cools.
- Leave the pod in and cool the syrup to cold in the fridge, at least an hour. Fish the pod out, rinse and dry it, and keep it in your sugar jar.
- Measure exactly 10 level tablespoons (150 ml) of the cold syrup into your dosing bottle; anything over goes in a separate bottle marked NO DOSE. Cold syrup only — if the jar still feels warm, wait.
- Add all 50 mg of tincture, stir 30 seconds, cap and shake 20 seconds. Vanilla seeds settle, so give it a proper shake before every pour or the last glass will taste stronger than the first.
- To build a glass: jigger one tablespoon into the glass first, add ice, pour the cold brew over and stir. One spoon per glass. Caffeine makes it easy to forget you've dosed at all — stick to one and leave two hours before revisiting.
- Label the bottle: Vanilla Bean Syrup · 50 mg THC total · 10 servings · 5 mg per tablespoon · 21+ only · shake well, plus the date. Keep it on a separate fridge shelf from the NO DOSE bottle so no one grabs the wrong one half-awake.
