Steps

  1. Set the oven rack in the lower third and heat the oven to **325°F / 160°C** — lower than the original on purpose, so the infused fat stays well inside the safe range. Grease a 9×9-inch square pan (or any pan of about 3 quarts that still gives you nine even squares).
  2. Whisk the milk, eggs, maple syrup, applesauce or banana, vanilla and salt in one large bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour in the melted infused coconut oil while whisking steadily. Let the milk mixture sit out for a few minutes first if it's fridge-cold, so the oil blends rather than setting into flecks. Whisk until you see no separate slick on the surface.
  4. Add the oats, baking powder and cinnamon and stir until evenly combined, then fold through the berries and nuts if using.
  5. Scrape everything into the pan — including the batter clinging to the bowl, which is dose you've already paid for — and level the top so it bakes to an even depth. Even depth means even squares.
  6. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, until the centre looks *almost* set for a soft, spoonable texture, or a few minutes longer if you like it firmer and sliceable.
  7. Cool at least 10 minutes, then mark a 3×3 grid with the back of a knife before you cut, so every square is genuinely the same size. Nine squares, no freehand slicing.
  8. **Label as you store:** squares into the fridge for up to a week or wrapped individually for the freezer, each one marked **5 mg THC per square, 45 mg per pan**, with the date. Add a line on the container for anyone sharing the fridge: 21+ only, one square to start, give it a couple of hours before deciding anything.
