240 ml (1 cup) honey2–3 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (or 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced)1–2 tsp apple cider vinegar¼ tsp fine salt (optional)80 mg THC tincture, measured exactly — e.g. 8 ml of a 10 mg/ml tincture, or 4 ml of a 20 mg/ml
Stoney says: start low, go slow — the forest isn't going anywhere. Wait 90 minutes before seconds.
Steps
- Combine the honey and pepper flakes in a small saucepan. Warm over medium-low only until the surface shows the first lazy bubbles — do not let it boil.
- Pull the pan off the burner immediately and let it sit 10–15 minutes so the heat moves into the honey. Taste a cooled drop on a spoon; if you want more bite, add flakes and rest longer.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a clean jar or bowl, pressing lightly to get all the honey through.
- Let the honey cool to warm-but-not-hot (under about 50 °C / 120 °F — comfortable on the back of your hand). This protects the tincture, which never needs heat.
- Off heat, stir in the vinegar and salt, then add the full measured 80 mg of tincture. Stir slowly and thoroughly for a good 60 seconds, scraping the bottom and sides — honey is thick and an uneven stir means uneven servings.
- Check the volume: it should sit at 240 ml / 1 cup. If it reads a little short after straining, top up with plain honey and stir again to hold the per-tablespoon math.
- Decant into a jar with a wide mouth (skip the squeeze bear — this one is spooned, not drizzled) and keep a measuring spoon with it.
- Label the jar: "Infused Hot Honey — 80 mg THC total • 16 servings • 5 mg THC per 1 tbsp • made [date] • 21+ only." Store it where only adults can reach it.
- Serving note: one tablespoon on pizza, fried-chicken sandwiches, roasted sprouts or a cheese board. One spoon, then wait — start low, go slow.
